Hello lovelies,
HAPPY OCTOBER!!! (better late than never right?!)
I have been really slacking with my blogging this year. I hope you can all understand that the years been a bit crazy and will let me off for not spending all my time typing away on my laptop.
I tried my best this last 6 months to get out and about, explore and make the most of the time I have available. So, at some point I may get round to writing a blog about everything I’ve been up to. But for now, lets keep you up to speed with current adventures.
PUMPKIN PICKING!!!
My sister and I planned a cute Autumnal day out to pick pumpkins, shoot some pictures and prepare for Halloween. We headed to Garsons Farm in Esher where they run a 'Pick Your Own' fruit and vegetable farm. Here they have 2 giant pumpkin patches, which you can wander round unassisted and pick the pumpkin of your desire.
I have never been pumpkin picking before, so this was a first for me. Who would have know it isn’t as simple as just picking one up off the floor!
They have pumpkins of all different shapes, sizes, colours and top stalks on them, finding one that is perfectly round with no dents in can be a tricky task.
We paid £4 each for admission into the Pick Your Own farm, and although there is a 1 hour time slot on the website when you book, it's pretty flexible for you to stay as long as you wanted. I think we were there for approx. 2 hours.
As well as pumpkins they had cabbages and spinach that were ready to be picked. In the Summer months they have a huge sunflower field and other fruit to be picked such as strawberries, raspberries and apples. You add all your picked produce into bags that are supplied at each field and then take it to the check out at the end. Garsons Farm is a drive through farm which has designated parking around each picking location. You add all your bags to your car and then get them out to be weighed and paid for on your way out. The nicety about Garsons is your £4 entry fee is deducted from your bill total at the end, as long as your produce is equal to or over the entry fee. With me and my sister both paying £4 entry fee, we had £8 to aim to spend and be taken off our total. We came away with 4 pumpkins, all different sizes and only had to pay an extra £4 on top.
Tickets are booked online via their website, linked at the beginning of this blog and here:

I think Garsons is sold out for the rest of the week, but you may be lucky to find something come up online.
There is a garden centre and café at Garsons Farm too, located at the main entrance. This is perfect to grab yourself some lunch or a hot drink to warm up after being out in the cold.
So, now all that is left to do is CARVE THE PUMPKINS!!!
I bought 2 pumpkins of a similar size so me and my boyfriend can have a carving competition. I’m 99% sure I’m probably going to lose this one, but it’s all a bit of fun. Also, I'm struggling to find the time we are actually going to do them...at this rate it will be Saturday night haha!
Is anyone else going pumpkin picking before Halloween on Saturday?
Happy picking and have a Happy Halloween!!!
Stay tuned on my Instagram- @zoe_barber for pictures and updates of our pumpkin carving (if it happens!).
